Scholl believes that most of the heat generated during polishing is attributable to the outermost area of the pad. For this reason, they have created a pad with a "flower" shape that reduces heat buildup, prevents damage, improves finish, and extends the life of the sponge. The Blue Ninja pad is a heat-resistant, medium to fine (open cell) reticulated foam finishing pad, recommended for small scratches on used paints with S2 Black and for refining with S30+.
