This is a multi-purpose wet-on-wet primer but can also be used as a medium-filler sandable primer. Suitable for overcoating with both water-based and solvent-based enamels. Also available in white 873.GT11 or black 873.GT22.

It can be applied directly to electrocoat, even unsanded.

It boasts excellent characteristics in terms of:
a) VERTICALITY Easily applied without risk of runs.
b) SPEED Can be overcoated after just 10' and small imperfections (specks, flaws, etc.) can be sanded out.
c) FILLING POWER Similar to that of a sandable primer.
d) NO REMARKS Putty areas are not highlighted.
e) FLOW The enamel has a mirror-like finish even in the wet-on-wet version of primer 873.GT05.
f) NO ABSORPTION The enamel has a full and brilliant appearance even in the wet-on-wet primer version.

APPLICATION GUIDE

Apply 1 or 2 coats of Primer 873.GT05, allowing 5' between coats at 20°C.
Wait approximately 15' at 20°C, then apply the final enamel, either solvent-based (our 2K pastel class, 807, 907, 910, 920 or double layer 821, 823, 824, 925, 926, 927) + clear coat (our 823 or 923 series) or water-based (our Hydropal 120, both in the double layer version for pastels, metallics, and pearls, and in the 2K direct gloss pastel version).

Once the enamels have dried according to the instructions on their respective technical data sheets, the final aesthetic appearance is the same as that of an enamel applied to a sanded primer.

In the presence of any impurities, the Primer can be sanded with P1000 paper after just 15'.

When used as a traditional Primer, it can be sanded with P800 paper after 2h at 20°C or after 15' at 60°C.
