The 3M polymer adhesive is approved under the stringent North American FMVSS 212 (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) regulations, which allow vehicles equipped with dual airbags to be returned to service after 1 hour following glass replacement. It is an easy-to-use, single-component polymer-based product, packaged in a cartridge that does not require primer application. It maintains its elastic properties, is extremely strong, and has high adhesive power. This adhesive can also be used as a sealant to bond materials with similar rigidity or to seal parts held together by mechanical fastening systems. The product can be painted immediately after the formation of the first external film (wet-on-wet), without affecting the curing speed. If the frame rebate is scratched, use 3M 58012 low-VOC primer to protect against corrosion.
